Micaela Aviles MA. NCC. LPC. ACS

Hi, I’m Micaela Aviles, MA, NCC, LPC, ACS. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado specializing in ADHD evaluations. I offer comprehensive, collaborative assessments designed to bring clarity to longstanding concerns with attention, focus, organization, and emotional regulation. My approach is warm, respectful, and strengths-based, with an emphasis on helping clients better understand their experiences and gain meaningful insight that can guide next steps in treatment and support.

My Story

Most people know me as Mickey. My professional story has been shaped by personal experiences. As an adult who was diagnosed later in life with ADHD, I understand firsthand what it can feel like to look back and suddenly make sense of years of challenges that were once explained in other ways, whether as stress, anxiety, inconsistency, or simply “trying harder.” That experience deeply informs the way I approach ADHD evaluations today.

I know that seeking an evaluation is often not just about answering a diagnostic question,it is about making sense of who you are. Many individuals come to this process with a mix of curiosity, relief, uncertainty, or even frustration. I aim to create an evaluation experience that feels respectful, collaborative, and free of judgment, where clients feel heard rather than reduced to a checklist of symptoms.

Together we will focus on gaining clarity around patterns of attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and daily functioning. I integrate clinical interviews, standardized measures, and developmental history to form a comprehensive understanding of each person’s experience. My goal is not only to assess for ADHD, but to help clients understand how their mind works in a way that is meaningful and usable in their daily life.

I bring a strengths-based and neurodiversity-informed perspective to this work, recognizing that ADHD is not simply a deficit, but a different way of processing and engaging with the world. I am especially passionate about helping clients leave the evaluation process with greater self-understanding, practical next steps, and a clearer sense of direction moving forward.
