Michele Hills PA-C, MMS
With over 10 years in mental health, I’ve learned that emotional wellness isn’t a luxury, it’s essential to a life that feels workable, meaningful, and even joyful. We all need joy in our life, but when life unexpectedly starts getting hard, I’m here to help you untangle the struggles and support you.
My Story
My path to becoming a Psychiatric Physician Associate (PA) wasn't a straight line, and I'm grateful for that. Every step gave me a different perspective on healthcare and shaped the way I care for my patients today.

I began my career in genetics research at Baylor College of Medicine, where I developed a deep appreciation for the science behind how our bodies and brains function. From there, I worked as a behavioral health technician, where I discovered the importance of meeting people with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment. Later, as an adjunct science instructor, I found joy in helping others understand complex concepts and empowering them through education, an approach I continue to bring to every patient visit.

The experience that changed everything came while working in health information technology within a large hospital system. Although I wasn't providing direct patient care, I worked alongside physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers every day. Watching the relationships they built with their patients and the difference they made in people's lives confirmed what I had been feeling for years: I wanted to be the person sitting across from patients, helping them navigate some of life's most difficult moments.

After exploring several paths in medicine, becoming a Physician Associate felt like the right fit. It combines evidence-based medicine with a collaborative, patient-centered approach, allowing me to build meaningful relationships while providing personalized psychiatric evaluations and medication management.

Today, I strive to create a space where every patient feels heard, respected, and involved in their care. Whether you're seeking support for OCD, anxiety, sleep disorders, depression, or another mental health concern, my goal is to work alongside you to develop a treatment plan that fits your unique needs, not just your diagnosis. I believe the best care happens through collaboration, education, and trust, and I'm honored to be part of your mental health journey.
My Approach
I believe mental health care works best when it's collaborative. My role is to partner with you to better understand your symptoms, answer your questions, and develop a treatment plan that supports your goals, not just your diagnosis. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, personalized medication management, and collaborative treatment planning for ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, sleep disorders, mood disorders, and other mental health concerns.

I especially enjoy working with college students and young adults as they navigate the unique challenges of school, career, relationships, independence, and life transitions. Whether you're balancing coursework, adjusting to adulthood, or trying to make sense of new or long-standing symptoms, you'll have a provider who listens, meets you where you are, and works alongside you every step of the way.
